Let us collaborate with you to help your patient or client receive the treatment they need
Whether your role is a doctor, nurse, therapist, dietitian, pastor, counselor or coach, you want what’s best for your patients or clients. If you suspect one of them may have an eating disorder, we can help.
At KellerLife, we share this desire and duty, and we know that the stakes are high — eating disorders are life-threatening. That's why we've developed a team, facility and program designed for treatment success.
Eating disorders are serious and complex
At KellerLife, we treat anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, and other specified eating disorders. We also treat the co-occurring disorders that often accompany them, such as anxiety or mood disorders. Eating disorders involve both the mind and the body, and can be resistant to treatment, so our approach is both comprehensive and compassionate.
Treatment rooted in the restoration of mind, body and spirit
KellerLife believes it takes treating the whole person to achieve full recovery from an eating disorder, because an eating disorder affects the whole person. Our treatment approach addresses the physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual health of our patients. This includes evidence-based treatment within a fully integrated Christian framework.
KellerLife was founded by Ward Keller — the founder and 20-year CEO of Remuda Ranch — and his wife, Carolyn Keller. Together, they have assembled a team of eating disorder specialists, who collectively bring more than 200 years of experience to our patients.
Refer women with eating disorders to a truly qualified treatment team
To make your referral count, treatment at KellerLife is delivered by well trained, credentialed eating disorder professionals who are on our staff, not just contracted out. Our therapists are truly specialized — master’s and doctorate-level, licensed and specialty-certified. Together, they bring more than a century of hands-on experience treating eating disorders and co-occurring disorders successfully.
KellerLife’s multidisciplinary clinical care team includes:
- Primary care physicians
- Behavior coaches
Experienced leaders committed to appropriate, effective treatment and healthy lives in recovery
KellerLife is run by a team of highly experienced, industry-leading eating disorder professionals dedicated to saving lives by providing the most effective care. Our leadership team is comprised of veterans of treatment, not merely individually but as a team. To provide your patient or client with truly effective care, we’ve brought back not only the most successful components of Remuda Ranch’s care but also its key players.
Improving lives by doing what works
A key concept in recovery is that it’s not what you know but how you apply it that matters. We took our experience in eating disorder recovery and applied it to treatment by incorporating what’s known to produce optimal outcomes, including:
- Medical and psychiatric intervention
- Individualized, multidisciplinary treatment of the whole person
- Inclusion and incorporation of family into treatment
- Full treatment duration
- Post-treatment support
- Inclusion and collaboration with referring professionals
Treatment for co-occurring disorders so she can have every chance for recovery
Treating anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorder successfully means identifying and treating co-occurring disorders. If co-morbidities are left unaddressed, relapse can occur, and the recovery process can be complicated. Our experienced, licensed and certified behavioral health professionals diagnose and treat these co-occurring disorders as part of each individualized eating disorder treatment plan. If you’re a behavioral health professional, we depend on you for input into treatment planning and for ongoing post-treatment care.
- Depression and other mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders such as social anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
- Substance abuse
Compassionate care in a safe, supportive and professional setting
KellerLife is a family-owned, faith-integrated, 40-bed residential eating disorder treatment center located within seven charming homes in a gated community. Both our facility and our program are designed for your patient/client to feel welcome, safe and supported. We bring love, respect and commitment to every aspect of our care in a comfortable setting and environment of communication, faith and healing. KellerLife is state-licensed and registered for Joint Commission evaluation and accreditation (JCAHO-pending).
Partnering with you to improve and save lives
A referral to treatment isn’t a referral away from your care. In fact, a key to successful treatment is interdisciplinary care, with you involved. You know your patient or client, and we value your input. So, we include you in the treatment planning process (per your preference) and consult with you as needed during the 45-day residential treatment. After treatment, we refer your patient/client back to you for her ongoing care.
At KellerLife, treatment is based on need
We are family-owned and operated, so we can make decisions based on what’s best for each precious individual, not what insurance dictates. At KellerLife, we determine each woman’s needs and treatment stay up-front, and then we stick to it so that you, your patient, and the family can be sure she’ll be here for the full treatment period, a key to treatment success.
Making the investment in recovery count
Surprises are the enemy of treatment, which is why KellerLife accepts insurance as an out-of-network provider. We determine, present and negotiate all costs up-front. Then we help your patient/client get her reimbursement, including fighting to help overturn insurance denials. No surprise additional costs. No insurance-dictated halts in treatment that end up harming patients and wasting money and precious recovery time.
Rooted in science, founded in faith
The KellerLife program is 100% rooted in science and evidence-based treatment. But it’s also founded on authentic Christian values. Evidence shows that spiritual growth is a key component of recovery from eating disorders and co-occurring disorders, and we can say with certainty that our fully integrated Christian perspective improves our treatment outcomes. In fact, many studies demonstrate that recovery programs that integrate faith and spirituality deliver superior outcomes compared to those that don’t. You can see a full list of studies here. You can also learn more about this approach on our About Us page.
For 30 years, there's been a small but steady stream of peer-reviewed research indicating that Christian spiritual practices, especially prayer and church attendance, improve happiness, mental and physical health, and longevity. Some publications have directly studied Christianity as a part of treatment for eating disorders and depression, finding clinical evidence that Christian treatment may lead to better recovery.
